How it works
Three ways to get a clear aligner setup
A practice gets aligner setups today by outsourcing them to an aligner company or lab, or by designing them in-house with desktop CAD software. The table follows the same dental case through each.
| Step | Outsourced setup | In-house desktop CAD | ClearAligner.AI |
|---|---|---|---|
| Software on your side | The vendor's portal | CAD software, a capable workstation and staff training | A web browser |
| Getting a first setup | A technician prepares it from your prescription form | Segment and set up each dental case by hand | AlignerBot computes it from your scans and options |
| Changing the plan | Write the change and wait for the technician | Edit it yourself in the CAD software | Send it back with a note; AlignerBot plans it again |
| Each revision | Another wait in the technician's queue | Your own staff time | One plan round, paid when you order it |
| Approving | In the vendor's viewer | Inside the practice | In the ClearAligner.AI viewer in your browser |
| Getting the files | The vendor makes the aligners | Export them yourself | Download them after approval and take them to any lab |
How it works
From scans to aligner models in four steps
Each dental case has one page that opens on the step waiting for you. An email tells you when the plan is ready to review.
- Step 1
Upload the two scans
Upper and lower arch scans as STL, PLY or OBJ. Your browser checks each scan and the bite position, and can repair holes before upload.
- Step 2
Choose the treatment
Design output, attachments, cutting paths, extractions, missing teeth, teeth to move, expansion, IPR and midline, with AlignerBot defaults for the rest.
- Step 3
Review the plan
Step through the treatment in 3D, read the movement of each tooth and the aligner count, then approve it or send it back with a note.
- Step 4
Download the design
After approval GuideMia recalculates staging, IPR timing and attachments, and produces aligner or arch models for you to download.
Where the plan is computed
AlignerBot runs on GuideMia's design workstations with OrthoPlus, GuideMia's orthodontic planning software. Nothing is installed on your side.
When you want a person
Order human design at the start or after reviewing a plan, and the GuideMia Design lab plans and designs the dental case.
If a run fails
GuideMia staff see every failed AlignerBot run. A round you paid for is run again at no charge, or GuideMia contacts you.
